Hoar Frost for days

Read Time: 3 minutes

Some mornings you wake up early and you get the beautiful surprise of a thick, beautiful hoar frost covering the land. It doesn’t happen too often in our neck of the woods where you get a nice heavy frost as winter conditions need to be ideal for it to really pop. When it does happen it seems like it’s always on a day where I am rushing to get to work and I just don’t have the ability or time to get out and go enjoy the scenery with my camera. Back in January however, I happened to wake up to these conditions and have the day off of work! I got the kids off to school and then hit the backroads looking for photo opportunities and some video work for my YouTube channel.

I won’t bore you with too many details or any fancy stories because I’m including the video I made that morning just below.

What I’ll say about it is simply this. As a photographer, being able to get out and enjoy conditions like this is nothing short of magical. So much natural beauty, such soft cool colors that are somehow heartwarming. Easily one of my all time favorite types of weather conditions to be able to get out and photograph in.

As always, if you’d like to see more content like this and would like to support me and my work I’d really appreciate if you could give me a follow over in my YouTube channel by just hitting subscribe! After all, it’s totally free and you’ll get notified every time I put up a brand new video once a week when I take you along to see what Minnesota has to offer photographically and what micro adventure’s I’ve been up to with my camera!

Also for those of you interested in gear. On the description/show notes for the YouTube video I have a list of all of the gear that I currently use. I don’t always use every bit of it when I’m out shooting, but that is the gear that I use for all of my photo and video work so be sure to check there if you’re into that side of things.

Most of all, enjoy!
